Since I’ve been gone

Hi crafters 👋🏾 macramakers and crocheters! How’s yarn life? Keepin’ it knotty? I sure have been. I bet you’re anxiously awaiting my next pattern or DIY #amiright? Ok, I kid, I kid. I do have a super simple granny square crochet plant hanger pattern for you, but before I present that, let me tell you what I’ve created and presented lately.

Actually, I kind of got burned out with the website. It’s so much harder to do than doing youtube video how to’s and I’ve yet to see any real compensation from it. So, I kinda gave up for a while, but Spring has renewed my vision and there are better and brighter things in store for readers of this blog. Trust me.

At any rate, I have finished some macrame tops and my niece has been so kind as to model them for me (ps she is an actual model with the Helen Wells Agency or on IG: @afr0m0mma).

How gorgeous is the back. I ❤️ it!

Oh, and I am wearing one of my creations over a button down lately. See 👇🏾

I love the way it looks. It looks like leather.

Oh, and I am working on another Katie Jones Knitwear Blooming Bomber as a commission for a roller derby friend. It’s below.

Process video is on my tiktok

And, well, I’ve posted at least 4 how to videos on my YouTube channel (subscribe please 🙏🏾🫶🏾). I will post about the special weaving one in a couple days. I’ve created a kit to go along with it. I’d love some feedback on it.

So, that’s a lot. And wait, there’s more! But I guess you’ll have to check me out elsewhere until I get support with this website. I finally set up an appointment with a professional so stay tuned!

Oh, and the granny square macrame pattern is coming. I ran into a roadblock with my mind. I have to write the last round. And art out the motif.

March Madness ☘️

Granny Square Crop Top

👋🏾 Hi Makers! Welcome back. Raise your hand if you are deep into March Madness? And I ain’t talking basketball. Watching the NCAA March Madness College Basketball Championship is a requirement here. It’s Kentucky, so it comes with the territory, and well, I am a former obsessed college basketball fan come roller derby athlete now retired so sports are in my blood. But this aint no sports blog! It’s about my craft obsession and patterns for you 👊🏾 and lately, granny squares in particular.

The pandemic had us in lockdown and apparently, people are all about crochet now, which is great because I am still obsessed with crocheting. In fact, I have been crocheting like a maniac. Crocheting til my wrists ache. So why haven’t I shared patterns and works with my blog readers? (Begging the question…because I have been crocheting. Ha. 🧶)

Not only is crocheting big again, but granny squares are all the rage. And I get it. I have always loved making granny squares. Me encanta granny squares. Let me show you. Here are some of the projects I’ve recently completed.

A lil project I started years ago and finally finished! It’s my new project bag.
Because I burned out on making macrame plant hangers. I’ve made soooo many since 2017. This is my 3rd style of granny square hanger. pattern coming! 😉
My newly made granny square bag. I love it. At event with my niece who also models for me @afr0m0mma on Instagram

So, see 👁, March Madness. And I have one last project to finish this month of the granny square variety. A midi granny square dress. I am over halfway mark on square making. Wish me luck! Have you been granny square obsessed? Share the love on IG.

Check back in a few days for a new crochet pattern!

Happy Making,

DIY Bubblegum Mirror and New Macrame Top

Bubblegum Raffia Mirror

Hi Friends/Readers! Hope you are well in your neck of the woods and I hope you are “happy crafting”! Things are fine here in Kentucky except for the snap back to cold 🥶 and torrential rains. Also, I am 💔 heartbroken over what is happening in 🇺🇦 Ukraine. Like spend swaths of my day thinking about how little children are being bombed. Tears.

Sorry to start off so dark. Let’s escape to the world of craft momentarily. Hard transition, have you checked out the EllaintheMoon YouTube?! Well, I can only say that you are really missing out. Last night, I uploaded the funnest, quirkiest video I’ve ever posted as part of my 5 part“Cardigan Series”, where I talk briefly about the cardigans I’ve made, their patterns and unbox my first Farm Rio purchase. 😍 Me Encanta!

Also, my Polymer Clay Raffia Mirror DIY is up (more aptly naming it my Bubblegum Mirror now). It’s a quick fun DIY much like the Raffia Moon Mirror DIY project from a while back here on this blog.

Part 1 of the Macrame Festival Top

Oooh, and there is the new Macrame Festival Top tutorial I presented almost two weeks ago. It’s inspired from a photo I saw on Pinterest, and I can’t wait to wear it this summer!

I will have a pattern to present on here only in the next few days. It is a crochet pattern so be sure and check back on Friday. But until then, head over to the YouTube and subscribe. It’s free!

Keep it Knotty,

Rachella

Knotty Rainbow 🌈

Hey Ho! 🌊 It’s the weekend here, and I am on a tear! Creatin’, editin’ and high fivin’…myself. I am feeling well! Heck, even went to the gym 3 days this week. I am in a rhythm of getting projects done and uploaded for all to make. The ‘Nada’ Macrame Bag is getting some views and hopefully this knotty rainbow will, too.

I hope my enthusiasm is palpable! Irl, I am overly excitable so yer lucky to be behind a screen and the internets cause I squeeze humans when I’m excited.

This week alone, I have edited to vids for my youtube AND uploaded them within 72 hours of each other. And, I made 11 granny squares (9 for a new top creation, 2 for the granny square dress I have in the works for spring). #brag

Oh, and, I have a super chunky knit sweater almost done. Just have to weave in the loose ends and add a few more K1, P1s for the collar. The sweater isnt perfect, but whaddya expect while creating from scratch while watching your fave shows on the SyFy channel?! (Do you watch Resident Alien? I love it. So funny!)

Don’t worry, I’ll show-and-tell the makes this week via the craftcast. Sooo many things to make, so little time.

I have a few how tos brewing for market displays to help my fellow crafters easily transport and display your for sale wares. Just need the child to have a full week at school (and for me to go to bed at a regular time like a normal adult woman!). A lady can dream.

So, here’s the link to the knotty rainbow. Enjoy!

Knot it!
