Polymer Clay Plant Propagation Potty 🌱🧪

Okay, okay, I went overboard with the alliteration in the title of the post, but I just had to do it! Plus, it totally looks like a potty 🚽, and I’m trying to potty train my kiddo so I see toilets everywhere, even in craft. (Funny, right?).

Potty Time! 🤣

Today, I have something a little different for you AND it’s really, really simple and very quick for the plant propagator in your life. Or just someone who likes to display plants in all manner of nook and cranny of their home like me.

Easy!

Plant Propagation Potty 🤣

With one bar of Sculpey, you can make two plant potties. Directions are below and please, heck, I’m begging, let me know if you make one or two or ten. 🌚☺️ You can use the hyperlink to purchase and I may make a small commission which can help me continue to bring you tutorials. Plus, it costs less than $3 and makes 4.

Materials:

Sculpey Polymer Clay

Test Tube 🧪

Roll your pieces into 2 inch balls, then roll them out into cylinders about 1 inch thick and 1.5 inches length. Then, grab a test tube and form your clay piece around the middle of it creating a mold of sorts. Repeat with another 2 inch ball. Then, marry them as pictured, into an L (err Potty) shape. Place your test tube in the middle to make sure it is formed properly and the test tube will sit upright, and press a little indention into the arc of the top half semi circle. This will make a great seat for the tube.

Preheat your oven to 175 degrees F. Place the Clay form onto a cookie sheet with either aluminum foil or parchment paper is ideal. Heat for 10 minutes.

Remove from the oven (with mitts ☺️) and let cool for like 10 ‘minutes, then insert your 🧪 test tube. And just add water and a plant. You can just add a pothos if you’re not propagating. Or add a flower dried or fresh. Display in window sill or on your work desk. Heck, add glue to the back and a magnet and you can put it on your fridge. Im gonna make a bevy of them. Plants, plants, plants!

Proppin’ 🌱🧪✨

Im gonna make more in all manner of colors and line ‘em up.

Hope you make some, too!
